Massage Therapy

A long day of work, driving through rush-hour traffic or staying home with exuberant high-energy preschoolers can be draining. On top of that, a constantly aching back and tired feet can rapidly decrease your mood. This is a familiar situation for most mothers -to be. It’s important to take time and recharge your own batteries so you can continue to care for your loved ones. Receiving massage therapy is a potent way to nurture and rejuvenate yourself. Rest assured the world will be not crushed if you delegate tasks to a family member or friend just for one hour.

It takes only moments on the massage table for your cares and woes to disappear into a blissful mist. Pregnancy is wondrous and exciting time for many women, but comes with its share of aches and pains due to progressive shifts in your posture. Massage therapy can help! Massage therapy is indicated to relieve the effects of physical and emotional stress, cramping and muscle spasm, headaches, joint tension and promotes general circulation, relaxation and a sense of well-being.

During the massage session pressure and every other variable will be adjusted to your comfort. Although not advised during pregnancy, our Hot Stone signature massage will be waiting for you after baby’s delivery! The majority of pregnant women in 1st trimester (up to 13 weeks) can lie on the massage table face up or face down with comfort. As the pregnancy progresses into 2nd trimester (14 to 26 weeks) and 3rd (from 27 weeks to delivery), alterations to positioning are made for safety and comfort. Side-lying and semi-reclining are very comfortable positions for pregnant women. Specially designed Prego Pillows – which allow resting on the stomach with comfort – ensure your massage session is supportive and comfortable.

There are some contra indications to massage therapy for pregnant clients, including uncontrolled high blood pressure, eclampsia, vaginal bleeding, sudden undiagnosed abdominal pain and other conditions which require direct medical attention. If that’s not the case, you are a good candidate for massage.

Beyond the obvious physical benefits of massage, such as relieving muscular soreness, increasing circulation of blood and lymph, and relaxation, massage provides emotional and nurturing support.

It’s a unique and sacred opportunity to treat a mother-to-be with new life growing inside her. We’re committed to contribute to healthy, loving, and peaceful families in our community. We provide a stress-free, calming, supportive and aesthetically pleasing experience.
